Jake Brewer, a senior advisor to U.S. Chief Technology Officer Megan Smith, died Saturday while participating in a charity bicycle ride.
The Washington Post reports that Brewer, 34, was riding in the Ride to Conquer Cancer when he lost control of his bike and crashed into an oncoming car.
Before joining the White House, Brewer was a general manager at Change.org and a co-founder of Define American.
President Obama issued a statement about Brewer’s passing:

Simply put, Jake was one of the best.
