As some of you may know, this week the Biathlon World Cup is kicking off in Swedish Östersund. IFS has a long history of commitment to the biathlon sport. Since 2011 we have been the official Data Sponsor for the international Biathlon Union (IBU) and a team sponsor for the Swedish Biathlon Federation. This year…
This year we wanted to take this commitment one step further, and at the same time honoring our Scandinavian heritage and the close integration between the countries in the region.
For the season 2015-2016 IFS has entered a new partnership to sponsor the Norwegian biathlete Tarjei Bø, who is one of the most successful biathletes on the tour, with one Olympic gold medal and seven world championship gold medals in his collection of trophies. Within this partnership, Tarjei Bø will participate in developing young Swedish biathlon talents at training camps in Sweden during the year.
As a sponsor we are very proud to be supporting a sport that is of great importance in several of our major markets and that shares many values with our business; agility, accuracy and focus are a few of them. These values have built IFS and made us what we are today: a billion dollar company with over 2400 customers and more than one million users in over 50 countries. By keep building on these values IFS will grow stronger.
Looking at the future, we also see the development of new talents as key for both IFS and the Swedish Biathlon federation, and we hope to be able to contribute to a strong development in this area.
For Tarjei Bø, the new sponsorship also means new possibilities. Tarjei comments:
“I am really happy with this new long term sponsorship, that makes it possible for me to work even harder to achieve my goals. I look forward to developing the biathlon sport together with Swedish young talents and we will hopefully have many tough Swedish-Norwegian fights in the ski tracks in the years to come, whih can contribute to a growing interest in the sport.”
We are following the biathlon world cup opening week in Östersund with excitement and hope for successes for both the Swedish team and Tarjei Bø!
