The new release updates Oracle’s supply chain management, human resources, and finance applications. It adds hundreds of new features, the company claims.
The release focuses on increasing functionality and improving user experience across all pillars, said Natalia Rachelson, vice president, Outbound Product Management, Cloud Applications at Oracle in an email. “There is an insatiable demand for improvements in application experiences. We’ve heard this from our customers and in the market and made it a big focus of this release.”
It also includes several new supply chain management products that cover sales and operation planning, demand management, supply planning, collaboration, quality management and maintenance.
“The most significant [supply chain management] features are focused around the level of visibility and collaboration throughout the entire supply chain, as well as additional support of manufacturing processes,” Rachelson said.
Another new product is called the Oracle Engagement Cloud. This combines sales and service capabilities including sales automation, service request management via multi-channel interactions, and knowledge management geared toward “high-touch and high-value accounts in B2B industries.”
The cloud applications update follows other new cloud services that Oracle has launched over the past few weeks.
The company added more services to its private cloud in a move that aims to make enterprise’s data centers look and feel just like the Oracle Cloud. This expanded the Oracle Cloud at Customer portfolio to include Oracle’s platform as a service categories, and for the first time its software-as-a-service offerings.
It also debuted a platform to support enterprise monetization efforts from Oracle Cloud deployments. The Monetization Cloud targets the digital commerce arena. It provides the full lifecycle of customer on-boarding, offer creation, rating, and billing.
